Low Carb/Paleo & Ketogenic Diet Programs

Our approach to weight loss focuses on diet modification by first addressing the ratio of a individual’s dietary macro-nutrients (i.e. the ratio of carbs vs proteins vs fats; both percentage wise & actual amount). Calories are not created equal and its simplistic (and wrong) to imagine weight loss is strictly a matter of calories in (diet) vs calories out (through daily activity).

Our starting point is typically a low carb diet, along an appropriate calorie intake for one’s dietary needs, level of activity and desired rate of weight loss or maintenance. A meal plan is provided and discussion revolves around the amount of carbohydrates (and forms) that form much of one’s typical diet, while attention is brought to common sources of unnecessary sugar and excessive starch intake, along with tasty alternatives.

From there, based on one’s goals, weight loss success, health history, food intolerances, allergies and sensitivities, the next step is to identify what ratio of fats to proteins works optimally for that individual. If an individual thrives on a more ketogenic based ratio of macros, then we provide a meal plan accordingly to their goals and needs.
