Running for Shelter is Dr. Grodski and his dog Sam’s charitable organization that hosts running challenge based donation drives and sponsorships, for the support of local safe housing for women and children affected by violence.

Support Dr. Grodski’s bid to complete the first ever Campbell 100 Running Challenge, by making a donation to Atira Women’s Resource Society, which is dedicated to supporting women and children affected by violence by offering safe and supportive housing.

The Campbell 100:

The Campbell 100 is a 100-day consecutive running challenge of an average of 10 km/day for a required 70 km/week, and 1000 km required over the total 100 consecutive days. At least 4 days per week the daily run is to occur at Campbell Valley Park in Langley, BC. The running is to be recorded daily via Strava (www.strava.com/athletes/grodski) and updated regularly through social media including Instagram and Facebook. The Campbell 100 is currently being run from Wed Dec 11th, 2019 – Thurs March 19, 2020.

The Inspiration:

I wanted to offer up the sweat currency of my nightly runs with my dog Sam for a good cause, something greater than the bond between ourselves; and I can’t think of anything more befitting than dedicating it to supporting a safe home for women and children. Sam and I are privileged to not think twice regarding our own safety, running at night in the dark forest, the muddy trail lit only by a headlamp. We are inspired by these brave women and children, and rally by their side, moving forward one step at a time, night after night, wishing each of them a bright, and positive safe future, full of potential. Our goal might not be lofty in terms of distance or speed, but it celebrates the same dedicated perseverance in returning back to the trail, night after night, on the dark, wet, cold and lonely months of the year, (when many of us take shelter for granted), that these women and mothers, approach their future with, and that of their children.

I encourage you to help make a difference and MAKE A DONATION TO ATIRA and support the wonderful work that they are doing. Sam and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
