Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

What is Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy?

The use of bio-identical hormones (as opposed to synthetic hormones) in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, sometimes referred to as natural hormone replacement therapy, is used to restore depleted and unbalanced hormone levels in both women and men. This covers the treatment of menopause, perimenopause, and post-menopause symptoms in women. Perimenopause is the stage of steadily declining and fluctuating hormone levels that frequently starts in the early 40s.

The chemical structure of bioidentical hormones is exactly the same as that of the hormones generated by our bodies, making them physiologically identical. Bio-identical hormones have significant therapeutic benefits in addition to providing relief from the signs and symptoms of hormonal imbalance since they are similar to those generated by the human body.

Women may experience hot flashes, night sweats, depression, moodiness, weight gain, acne, fatigue, insomnia, loss of libido, memory loss, difficulty concentrating, headaches/migraines, panic attacks and anxiety, heart palpitations, urinary incontinence, dry vagina, excessive sweating, bloating, and other symptoms. Men may also experience these symptoms.

Men may have symptoms such as a decreased sense of wellbeing, libido loss, depression, bone loss, and others.

Additionally, weight reduction, increased sex drive, improved mental health, lowered cholesterol levels, less chance of osteoporosis, lowered risk of heart attack and stroke, and much more are all benefits of bioidentical hormone replacement treatment.

Instead of merely replacing hormones, the White Rock Naturopathic approach to hormone balancing has always sought to not only restore optimal hormonal levels but also to go one step further by assisting your body in regaining its capacity to maintain a proper balance on its own, through the use of chinese and naturopathic medicine. This thus provides a different option for people who might not require BHRT or who eventually want to taper off their bioidentical hormones.
